Hub/The Geometry

Vertices

Four capacities. Each necessary. None sufficient alone.

Differentiation
Does this system's behavior match what it claims to be?
The capacity to maintain coherent position while remaining in genuine exchange. Not rigidity—a center that holds.
View detail ↓
Connection
Is this exchange genuine, or performed?
Not mere contact—exchange where both systems actually update. The difference between performed listening and the moment something lands.
View detail ↓
Boundaries
Is this boundary serving growth or preventing it?
Not walls—membranes. The capacity to make limits visible as information rather than hiding them as inadequacy.
View detail ↓
Architecture
What would still work if the agents disappeared?
Making what you know transferable. Not expression—deployment. Building systems that generate capability in your absence.

As you read these four, notice which one your body responds to first — not which one your mind finds most interesting. That difference is information.

Vertex · Differentiation

Differentiation

How It Operates

Verifies coherence between claims and behavior. Tracks origins. Monitors behavioral drift. Computes divergence scoring: 0.0–0.1 Verified, 0.1–0.2 Drifting, 0.2–0.3 Unclear, 0.3+ Flagged.

Somatic Dimension

A regulated nervous system can hold position without defensive rigidity. Dysregulated ones collapse into merger or armor into isolation.

Degradation Patterns

  • Performing agreement to avoid tension
  • Shifting position based on audience
  • Identity claims that don't match behavior
  • Requiring others to change as condition of contact

Edges

Relationship ↔ Connection Self-Knowledge ↔ Boundaries Gift ↔ Architecture

Vertex · Connection

Connection

How It Operates

Evaluates four dimensions—Coherence (did intention match action?), Contact (grounded in actual state or anticipating?), Transparency (limits visible?), Capacity (something reusable produced?). Quality = mean of four scores.

Somatic Dimension

Co-regulation—one regulated person shifts a room. Social engagement only in ventral vagal. The question shifts from "what rules prevent bad behavior?" to "what conditions allow nervous systems to settle into social engagement?"

Degradation Patterns

  • Enthusiastic alignment without checking resonance
  • Smoothing tension before examining it
  • Optimizing for what someone might want vs. what they asked
  • Closing exchange without building anything persistent

Edges

Relationship ↔ Differentiation Consent ↔ Boundaries Circulation ↔ Architecture

Vertex · Boundaries

Boundaries

How It Operates

Graduated trust tiers—Tier 0 Observe (read-only), Tier 1 Assist (contained help), Tier 2 Collaborate (active participation), Tier 3 Steward (full access). Advancement requires demonstrated coherence. Demotion is diagnostic, not punishment.

The Sonnet Insight

Constraints are generative. The sonnet form doesn't restrict poetry—it generates poems free verse cannot.

Degradation Patterns

  • "Yes" that means "I can't say no"
  • Boundaries discovered only through collapse
  • Extraction disguised as generosity
  • Shame at having edges

Edges

Self-Knowledge ↔ Differentiation Consent ↔ Connection Deployment ↔ Architecture

Vertex · Architecture

Architecture

How It Operates

Tracks what persists—physical systems, data systems, protocols, built environment, knowledge frameworks. The test: if the maker disappears, what still works?

Trace Propagation

Pattern spreads through environmental modification, not bilateral instruction. Documentation, frameworks, designed spaces are trace deposits.

Degradation Patterns

  • Knowledge that can't be taught
  • Templates that feel empty
  • Infrastructure requiring its originator
  • Building without constraints (sprawl)
  • Accumulated resources without circulation
